KC Healthy Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving a health of Greater Kansas City’s children, has announced a recipients of 6 $1,000 initial place awards for we Am Here, a nonprofit’s girl print competition designed to commission students to pronounce out for healthy communities. The winning classrooms will use their awards to foster tyro wellness.

The winning classrooms are:

3rd Grade: Border Star Montessori, Katie Wolfe, Kansas City Public Schools

4th Grade: Stony Point North Elementary School, Ray Lipovac, Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools

5th Grade: Meadowbrook Elementary, Sarah Farsace, North Kansas City School District

6th Grade: Prairie Elementary, Laura Moore, Shawnee Mission School District

7th Grade: Summit Lakes Middle School, Heather Crain, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District

8th Grade: Missouri City School, Jill Payton, Missouri City School District

At a rite on Mar 2, students will give “Shark Tank” character presentations and ask assembly members to get concerned in their projects. A grand esteem leader will be announced, and that propagandize will accept $2500 to make durability change in their community.

Through a contest, teachers helped students consider critically about how their vicinity – walking trails or damaged sidewalks, protected playgrounds or blighted lots, schoolyard gardens or quick food restaurants – impact their health. Hundreds of students were concerned in a competition and submitted captioned photos illustrating how their communities assistance and impede healthy habits.

The rite is 5:30 p.m. during a Kauffman Foundation Conference Center during 4801 Rockhill Road, KCMO 64110.
